2024 in Review
2024 has been a masssive year, but it's also felt quite short at the same time.
Between being a parent to a little one and really getting my hands dirty with Documenso, it's been a whirlwind.
Key Personal Achievements in 2024:
-
Celebrated our kiddo's first birthday
-
Traveled to Japan and Vietnam with our little one who was just three months old at the time
-
Sold our city apartment and moved into a happy little house in the suburbs
-
Bought our first electric vehicle which I had been dreaming of for years
Professional Journey:
The past year as CTO and founder of Documenso has been challenging but rewarding.
While our growth may not match typical startup metrics, we've maintained strong numbers while prioritizing compliance and quality.
Our team has expanded thoughtfully, though I've learned that hiring and managing people carries significant emotional weight when you're responsible for not only the business, but also the employees livelihoods.
Managing development, conducting one-on-ones, and maintaining customer relationships while still being a fairly new parent and still new to being a CTO has been pretty intense. But despite the challenges, I feel that we've made solid progress.
Looking Forward to 2025
For 2025 I'm looking to focus on the following:
Personal Wellness:
-
Implementing better weight management through conscious eating
-
Starting a home garden for herbs and vegetables
-
Creating structured schedules to balance work and personal life
Professional Goals:
-
Refining our B2B focus with our platform plan
-
Further targeting the embedded signing market
-
Upgrading our tooling while maintaining operational efficiency
Technology Exploration:
-
Diving back into AI developments, particularly with newer models
-
Exploring personal software possibilities
-
Investigating AI interfaces and automation opportunities
2025 will be about finding the right balance - between growth and sustainability, between professional ambition and personal wellbeing. With our new market focus and improved tools, I'm optimistic about what we can achieve while maintaining a healthier work-life integration.
